The de Winter PR and Design team has won special industry
recognition for one of its market-leading communications campaigns
carried out on behalf of Warrington's Golden Square Shopping
Centre.
The award was secured at the equivalent of the Oscars in the
shopping world- the BCSC (British Consortium of Shopping Centres)
Purple Apple Marketing Awards 2011.
The Purple Apple Marketing Awards are the only awards which
recognise and reward effective shopping centre marketing within the
UK shopping centre sector.
The exclusive acknowledgement from top-level industry insiders
was for the team's community relations campaign which culminated in
an event called 'Get Sorted'.
The event was designed to encourage young people aged 14-21 to
uncover new talents, learn new skills and fulfil their potential in
the jobs market. It made a positive tangible impact to the region,
helping fill more than 50 jobs with local employers including
placements made in the third sector and the hospitality
industry.
'Get Sorted' was commended for showcasing new industry standards
of innovation, delivery and performance, taking shopping centre
marketing to the next level.
The award is the second Purple Apple that Golden Square has won
and de Winter's CEO, Hems de Winter, said: "Even winning a 'pip' at
the Purple Apples is a major achievement, but to receive special
recognition is amazing.
"The whole team worked tirelessly to come up with fresh,
innovative ideas for this campaign and we're delighted to help win
such a prestigious accolade for Golden Square."
Ian Cox (pictured), Marketing Manager at Golden Square, added:
"de Winter fully embraced our brief to get Warrington's youth
community involved in an interactive, creative and inspiring skills
event.
"Get Sorted was an outstanding event and some significant
legacies have been secured for the future."
