de Winter dismisses northern skills shortage
Thursday, July 28, 2011
Chester based PR and Marketing agency de Winter is celebrating
prime position among national agencies as the results of the 2011
PR census are announced.
Dismissing attitudes that the capital city is the only hub for
quality media and communications activity in the UK, de Winter's PR
offering proves that Chester in fact houses the same skills and
offers more services than many London and international
agencies.
The census, launched by PR Week and PRCA, studied twenty-five
roles within PR that are offered among UK agencies, twenty-two of
which de Winter PR provides. Following de Winter's
acquisition last year of KM Creative, now relaunched as de Winter
Design, the agency also ranks impressively with an in-house graphic
design team providing clients with a one-stop shop of skills under
one roof, and a role of which only 14% of UK PR companies
offer.
Although a small agency of ten, de Winter is one of the North
West's most creative and longest established PR agencies.
Celebrating its twenty first anniversary, it is growing year on
year, with three award wins just this year in recognition.
Chief Executive Hems de Winter said: "We strive to be among, if
not ahead of national agencies and provide the highest level of
skills to our clients. Although we work on a national level
we're particularly proud of our regional clients and relationships
and hope to continue to keep Chester at the forefront of media
relations."
De Winter is also breaking the mould with a female Managing
Director, Kate Cox; the PR census found that at director and
partner level, positions are largely dominated by males. Kate
joined the agency in 2007 and leads all operational and strategic
business developments.
