de Winter PR & Marketing is celebrating being the only
Cheshire-based PR agency to be shortlisted in this year's Chartered
Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) North West PRide Awards.
The shortlisting in the 'Not-for-Profit' category marks the
team's success on behalf of Newlove FM, set up last November by
Helen Newlove, the widow of Garry Newlove who was brutally murdered
by youths outside the family home in 2007.
The agency was commissioned to develop both national and
regional launch campaigns and event management for the Newlove FM
'pop-up' radio launch in Warrington, the first initiative of the
'Newlove Warrington' campaign, which aims to encourage and inspire
young people within the local communities.
A celebrity event was organised to celebrate the launch of
Newlove FM, backed by a national media campaign, which generated
over £34,000 of coverage for the charity and attracted high-profile
support during the radio station's two-week run in June. The
station featured interviews with Gordon Brown and David Cameron,
and a host of other local and national personalities.
De Winter PR Director, Hems de Winter said: "We're thrilled to
be the only Cheshire agency to be shortlisted. To have achieved
this for our work on behalf of such a worthwhile cause during our
own 20th anniversary year is a real thrill!."
He added: "Newlove FM attracted national recognition and support
with Helen Newlove, her daughters and guest DJs all working
together to raise awareness of the charity's aims in providing
opportunities for young people. We couldn't have hoped for a better
outcome."
Helen Newlove commented: "I'm thrilled that de Winter PR has
been shortlisted for a PRide award. The team have driven great
awareness of Newlove Warrington, and the national coverage and
support they have attracted for Newlove FM has been
phenomenal."
